Bat Walk Event at The Castle Howard Arborteum
As twilight falls and the Arboretum settles into evening, discover a hidden world that comes alive after dark. The noises we pick up will help us identify the species that we find. Please wrap up warmly and bring a torch!
Guided by a local expert, you’ll explore the landscape at dusk, learning about the fascinating lives of bats and their vital role within the Estate’s ecosystem. Using bat detectors, we’ll tune into the high-frequency calls that are usually beyond human hearing, transforming faint night-time flickers into identifiable species.
This relaxed and informative walk offers a rare opportunity to experience the Arboretum at a completely different time, in the fading light of day.

Charity Yoga and Pamper Event for Expectant and New Mums at Cosy Cottage
Join us at our Malton store for a warm, welcoming afternoon of relaxation, gentle movement, and pampering — designed especially for expectant mums, new mums, and the friends and family who love them. Your £7.50 booking fee goes entirely to charity, supporting Lucy’s Legacy, a local initiative raising awareness and funding better care for postnatal depression and psychosis through Mind (Charity No. 219830).
Come for as long or as little as you like, and take part in as many activities as you wish. Everything is included in your £7.50 donation.
