Market Street Suggestions

A morning on Market Street often starts at Lutt and Turner, a buzzing cafe and bakery with superb sweet treats. Cosy and welcoming, this much loved institution is just down the road from the amazing specialist gin & whisky shop, McMillan’s, an unmissable stop for a quick sharpener and home to amazing and unusual booze! Bowley & Jackson is packed full of great vintage and retro items and then there’s interiors gurus Hare & Wilde, one of the most elegantly designed shops in Yorkshire or anywhere for that matter.

With the most beautiful homewares, kitchenware, rugs and more, Hare & Wilde is one of Malton’s best.

The Purple Carrot, vegan and veggie deli and cafe is also highly recommended with their amazing array of colourful and eclectic dishes. Their ‘Sambar’ - a spiced Indian lentil soup, is incredible, as is their beetroot tart, spinach borek and popular samosas. Wonderfully tasty, they are unmissable whether you eat meat or not.

Market Street also has a fashion buzz about it too where there’s an ever-growing selection of clothing shops for all the family, from men’s lifestyle and fashion retailer Swallow & Sons ladies fashion at both The Rusty Fox and Smash Boutique. Little Fox recently opened on Market Street which is a beautiful children’s clothing and gift boutique, stocking a range of lovely brands for babies and children aged from 0-3 years.
