The Fitzwilliam Malton Estate is continuing its investment in Malton town centre with an important programme of car park resurfacing works scheduled for early November. The works, which have been in the pipeline for over 12 months, form part of the Estate's long-term commitment to the stewardship and improvement of Malton and will see the north and west parking areas of the Market Place resurfaced, providing a more even, durable and welcoming environment for businesses, residents and visitors.
Works will be undertaken by the Estate's appointed local contractor B. Swales Ground Works and Developments.
The timing has been carefully considered to minimise disruption, taking account of seasonal visitor patterns, contractor availability and weather conditions (fingers crossed!).
The Fitzwilliam Malton Estate's commitment to providing two hours' free parking will continue, recognising the important role accessible parking plays in supporting town centre businesses and encouraging people to visit, explore and spend time in Malton.
The Estate also expects to confirm the parking operator shortly, with contractual arrangements nearing completion.
Maintaining and improving the town centre is an important part of the Estate's wider responsibility as a long-term custodian of Malton. This latest investment reflects that commitment and our ambition to support a thriving, attractive and accessible town centre for years to come.
