Whether you are planning a relaxing weekend break or foodie-inspired day trip, Malton is the perfect blend of character, culture, and curated shopping. As proud locals here at Bella di Notte, we've put together our perfect day in this charming market town - with insider tips on the best places to eat in Malton, where to shop, what to do, and how to round off your day in style.
Start Your Day at the Malton Monthly Food Market
If you are visiting on the second Saturday of the month, you're in luck. Malton's Monthly Food Market transforms the town centre into a feast for the senses. Local producers, bakers, chocolate traders, and the cheesemongers line up in the market square with stalls bursting in flavour.
Don't miss out on the homemade brownies from the local baker, offering a huge range of flavours for you to choose from. And if you don't have a sweet tooth, the freshly baked bread is the one for you. It's more than shopping - it's local tradition that brings people together.

We won't list every store here, but we can assure you that style thrives in this town - and we're not just talking about clothes. The high street is full of thoughtful details, much like the garments we make. Lucie, who is the Marketing Manager here at Bella di Notte, loves to have a quick peak in Hare & Wilde which is located on Malton's Market Street.
A Bite to Eat: Where We Like to Lunch
Feeling peckish? Malton is the food capital for North Yorkshire so as you can imagine, it is full of fantastic food spots. The Talbot Yard Food Court is home to 6 artisan businesses including a patisserie, bakery, butchers, gelato maker, coffee roastery, and even a gin distillery - all tucked behind the historic Talbot Hotel. Grab a bite to go or enjoy a leisurely lunch in one of the many inviting cafés or pubs.
When they're not helping customers at Bella di Notte, our team loves to explore the best of Malton. Katie recommends The New Derwent Bistro, a cosy bistro-style restaurant known for it's relaxed atmosphere and delicious seasonal dishes. Meanwhile, Sarah enjoys the live music at Pizza on the Square, where you can tuck into freshly made pizzas while enjoying the entertainment - a great spot for an evening out.
