The huge 2 day Malton Christmas Festival is the shopping event of the year.

Expect a fabulous weekend of festive fun in and around Malton’s picturesque Market Place, with delicious food and festive gift stalls, street food, live music from local brass bands and choirs and family entertainment.

Malton’s shops will be packed with Christmas gift ideas too - stay a while longer and explore the many charming streets across town on your visit.

Family Entertainment

Fun for all the family with a festive land train to take you around the Market Place and Emerald the Elf with Santa shows in the Milton Rooms.

Street Food & Live Music

Enjoy traditional Christmas music from Malton’s local brass bands and choirs whilst you have a rest from shopping and savour some scrumptious street food.

Christmas Shows & Santa’s Grotto with Emerald the Elf

Come and join Emerald the Elf as she gets ready for Christmas - there’s always something she needs some help with in the interactive show, suitable for all ages.

Saturday 2nd December at 12pm/2pm/3.30pm

Sunday 3rd December at 10.30am/12pm/2pm/3.30pm

Tickets are £5 per person, which includes your family table at the show, plus a visit to Santa's Grotto and a gift for every child.

Be Amazing Arts Creativitent

The Creativitent will be open 9am-3.30pm each day.

There’ll be a Christmas mini disco, performing arts sessions and our festive storytelling which is all free of charge.

Kids can get crafty by making their very own lolly stick ornaments and decorate their own stockings - £5 per person per session.

Top off your visit with a festive face paint - £5 per person.

MUST Forge Blacksmith: Make Your Own Metal Rose

Make Your Own Metal Rose in a choice of two different materials.

Frequency: Every hour from 11am-3pm;

Duration: 40 mins to an hour, skill level dependent;

Group Size: 4 people a session.

Cost per workshop:

·         copper rose - £45

·         steel rose - £35 

Participants will come away with a finished rose to take home. Pre-book your space by messaging MUST Forge via Facebook or Instagram.

North Yorkshire Rotters Workshops

North Yorkshire Rotters are back at the Malton Christmas Festival for 2023 with their ‘Christmas love food hate waste’ cookery demonstrations with chef Nigel Brown. Their volunteer ‘Rotters’ will also be giving info and advice about reducing food waste and home composting.

Christmas Festival Car Parking

Malton’s town centre postcode is YO17 7LX. This is where the Christmas Festival is taking place.

There will be a designated car park for the festival weekend located at:

  • Riverside Meadows YO17 6AX: for traffic traveling from the north and westbound on the A64.

  • Parking is £7.50 per car (cashless, card payment only) and includes all day parking (9am-4pm) and a free Park & Ride service to and from the town centre.

  • The shuttle bus service will run from 9am – 3.45pm. The car park closes at 4pm.
