If you’re interested in books or would simply like to try something different and learn about literature, then Kemps Monthly Book Club is just for you.
Join the friendly local Book Group at Kemps Bookshop and meet others who share your passion for all things literary. It’s a relaxed group, so it doesn't matter whether you devoured the book in one sitting or gave up after two pages!
Share your thoughts and hear what others made of the book of the month too. All opinions welcome - we start with the book, but the discussion can end up anywhere.

Author and Book Signing Events
In addition to the Monthly Book Clubs, Kemps Bookshop is also proud to present a jam-packed, exciting schedule of events including author events, book signings, talks with experts and research fellowes for starters!
Book Club
Kemps Book Club runs on a monthly basis on a Tuesday and a Thursday evening. Pre-booking is essential.
“Cooking The Books”
Kemps Books have teamed up with Malton’s stylish cookery school, The Cook’s Place to bring you a monthly book club with a difference. Join Liz and Gilly for a fun evening discussing the month’s chosen book followed by a 2 course meal made by Gilly. A warm, friendly atmosphere awaits!
Craft Workshops
Kemps General Store run a range of exciting arts and crafts workshops too. From learning how to darn to silk painting and journaling, there’s a new, exciting skill for everyone to get stuck into.
